The Battle of Hastings was fought on 14 October 1066. Early efforts by William to break the English battle lines failed. The Normans then pretended to retreat and as the English troops pursued them their cavalry attacked. This weakened Harold's army. Later in the day Harold was killed and the Battle was over. William became King of England.
This wallet type packaging has a reproduction pewter Harold II Penny held in a blister on the front. On the inside and reverse there is information about the Battle of Hastings.
